Chemo #1 review

Chemo #1 Review:

To go along with my positive attitude and transparent truth about this whole thing, I will share that this was not my favorite part of the process. I felt ok Friday evening after treatment and Saturday as well. I was tired, but mostly ok. I began the anti-nausea meds Friday night and I think that helped me immensely. Sunday morning at 4am I felt like a freight train ran through me and my nausea needed a 2nd pill. Which I just took because I was not interested in anything that looked like puking or dehydrating myself. I called the on call doctor to ask for some guidance and he told me to double the dosage on the nausea meds, that would be ok. Which I had already done so good thing I double checked 🤣. I was ok with fluids but food wasn’t appealing to me. So I made it through the day on soup and water. I never dehydrated thank god. Monday was when the Neulasta pain was the worst. That little fucker on my arm dispensed the medication Saturday night and I had some aches on Sunday but Monday my whole body just hurt. Thankfully I took the Claritin so I didn’t have bone pain… I cannot imagine… I struggle bussed through work and discovered that Ensure drinks will be my friend the next few months. Dr T let me go home early because she’s the best and she felt so bad for me trying my best to make it through the day. I crashed on the couch when I got home. Today was like 🌞 a whole new day. I was so excited to eat breakfast! Real food!

So my game plan for next time is to ask for stronger anti-nausea meds and maybe something to help with the neulasta pain.

So I made it through the first round ok I think. It could have been much worse. Learning as we go.
