CHEMO UPDATE!

I’ve completed 8/12 Taxol treatments!
Competed 12/16 Chemo treatments!

The finish line is so close! I wanted to highlight the chemo drug I’m on now:

TAXOL
Paclitaxel, the most well-known natural-source cancer drug in the United States, is derived from the bark of the Pacific yew tree (Taxus brevifolia) and is used in the treatment of breast, lung, and ovarian cancer, as well as Kaposi’s sarcoma

Because it’s derived from a natural source- yew tree- it can give one an allergic reaction. So I get Benadryl before the taxol so I may tolerate it and because I have season tree/plant allergies I sneeze and cough from this chemo. So far it hasn’t damaged my nails which is a common side effect. I do experience body aches (fibromyalgia) which at times can feel severe especially last week with the dismal weather. BUT my hair is growing back so that’s exciting!

It feels like yesterday I had my biopsy and I’m almost to the finish line already 🥹
