1 in 8 women in the US will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime.

1 year ago today, I had the mammogram and ultrasound that showed the lump in my breast had “irregular margins”, “skin thickening”, and a bi rad score of 5… indicating that a biopsy was needed as all signs pointed to malignancy.

I knew then that I was 1 in 8.

It was very hard in that moment to see my way through cancer, to see the other side of this… I cried so hard. And then, I took action. I immediately scheduled my biopsy and the next day I researched and found my surgeon.

1 year ago today, my life changing journey began. I am forever grateful for the love and support I received through it all and continue to receive. It felt like I would never be here and yet, here we are.
